A day of fishing should simply be fun; I believe it is important to strive for that. Everyone has their own experience with it. I always discuss the goals for the day in advance. Whether you want to learn dropshotting, vertical jigging, or just want to enjoy a day of fishing, I will adapt to your wishes. It is possible to fish for zander, pike, and perch. Naturally, I will contribute my knowledge regarding the catch possibilities and the best techniques at the moment.

I live in the water-rich province of Friesland; fishing here is wonderful. I have been fishing here my whole life. I also enjoy fishing with you in the rest of the Netherlands. During the NKS Zander fishing season, I got to know many waters. Some examples: the IJssel, the North Sea Canal, the IJ, the Haringvliet, the Volkerrak, and the Hollands Diep. I consider this last body of water my home water; I won the last NKS competition here.

The boat is the new 5.20-meter Tomasco Predator, powered by a new 100 HP Honda outboard motor. There is room for three guests. This setup receives regular maintenance and is inspected annually. Two Minn Kota electric motors, one forward and one aft, make it possible to fish effectively in all conditions. For pelagic fishing, I purchased the Garmin 8412 with LiFiscope and PS30 transducer. The two Lowrance HDS12 fish finders complete this set. My guests do not need to bring rods or bait; I have everything on board. This is the same top-quality gear I use for competitions. Examples of the rods used are: Zodias, Yasei, Lesath, Expride, and Poison Adrena. Examples of reels are: Stradic, Aldebaran, ConQuest, Tranx, Vanquist, and Stella. Everything is from the global brand Shimano, for which I am a Pro Staffer. Of course, you are also allowed to fish with your own gear. The only things you need to arrange yourself are a permit, appropriate clothing, and some provisions.

It is not just a hobby; fishing is my great passion. Being a professional fishing guide is now a part of that. I have been found by the water's edge my entire life. After school, I would stand along the railway ditch catching salamanders or sticklebacks. Soon, I could be found at the local power plant. Zander were easy to catch at the outflow of the warm water. I could be found there every free hour, and you could also experiment a lot. We caught a lot with a piece of fish, but I remember we even caught them with a piece of silver foil or an orange peel. I have been fishing for my friend Glasoog for almost 50 years, using every possible technique.

Safety comes first. If there is too much wind to guarantee safety, the day will be cancelled or rescheduled. I am a certified Emergency Response Officer (BHV).
